Experienced kart pilot and up-and-coming open wheel driver Frankie Mossman is set to join the Jay Howard Driver Development ranks this weekend at the most fabled grounds in American racing. Mossman will be joining a competitive USF2000 field for both Indianapolis Road to Indy events. He’ll get his first taste of racing action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Grand Prix Circuit on May 12-14, followed by the oval race at Lucas Oil Raceway on May 26-27.
“I’m thrilled to join JHDD,” said Frankie Mossman. “They have the right people in place, and the breadth of experience across every part of the program is going to enable us to hit the ground running. I thoroughly enjoyed testing at the Lucas Oil Raceway Oval recently, and I’m especially looking forward to my first race at the IMS road course coming up this week.”
Team owner Jay Howard is enthusiastic about Mossman joining the squad and is confident that he can show good pace despite beginning midway through the season.
“I am excited to have Frankie join our USF2000 team for the Indy events. I have watched him race at the front of karting events for years, and although we have not had the chance to do any road course testing, I am confident Frankie will get up to speed quickly. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do during the Month of May in Indy!”
