Garg and JHDD Confirm Plans to Compete in 2021 USF2000 Championship

Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) and Bijoy Garg today announced that the partnership will be teaming up once again for 2021, competing in the 2021 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship.

Garg enjoyed an encouraging rookie season in open wheel racing in 2020, participating in a variety of different series including select events in USF2000 where the young California based driver secured two Top-10 finishes with the JHDD team. For 2021, Garg will be looking to build upon the experience he gained last season as he focuses on putting together a full season campaign towards the sharp end of the field.

“I’m excited to be back with Jay Howard Driver Development in 2021,” a confident Garg stated. “Looking back at how much I improved as a driver after a year in the program, it was an easy choice to stay with the team. We’re much more prepared for this year and our pace from testing looks promising. I can’t wait to get the season started!”

Having Garg return for another season provides the JHDD team with an opportunity to continue to work with and develop a driver that now understands the concepts of driving a USF2000 car at the limit, and team-owner Jay Howard is relishing the opportunity.

“It’s always nice when you can have some continuity with a driver, especially when they have displayed promise such as Bijoy has,” commented Howard. “We were able to get a lot of miles in last year, and Bijoy certainly performed well whenever he got in USF2000 machinery. Now having the time to build upon that with a good amount of testing over the off-season, and the fact that he has a great attitude and works well with the whole team, I am excited to see what the 2021 season has in store for him.”

Garg and the rest of the JHDD squad continue their preparations for the 2021 Road to Indy season with team testing arranged between now and the start of the season. The first official series outing of the year is slated to get underway at Barber Motorsports Park for Spring Training, April 4-5, before the opening rounds of the 2021 Cooper Tires USF2000 season spring into action at the same circuit, April 15-18.
